Paint & Sip Mondays at the Bierhall


Join us on Monday's this fall and experience a 2-hour Paint and Sip class with local Vermonter Natalie Carr as you paint one of our famous Highland Cows or a foliage scene (paintings rotate weekly). Price includes, 12 x 16 canvas, all art supplies, easel and instruction as well as cheese and crackers. Soft drinks, beer and wine available for purchase night of.

The George Petit Trio Saturdays in December - March


Join the George Petit Trio in the Sunroom on Saturdays from 6:15pm - 9pm as we turn this space into a cozy jazz club the evening. They will be playing jazz standards and Brazilian favorites for all to enjoy.

Sunday Funday: S'Mores Ski Sunday, February 1. 2026 11am - 2pm


S'Mores at Russell Knoll from 11am - 2pm. Fire pit on Russell Knoll with s'mores makings provided on site. No registration needed and no fee beyond your normal day or season pass. You just have to ski or snowshoe out there and toast the perfect golden marshmallow!

Rossignol Women's Nordic Ski Day! February 1, 2026


A fun educational day on snow for women of all abilities and all ages! If you are looking to learn to nordic ski, improve on what you already know and meet other like-minded outdoor snow loving women– join us! Our goal is to encourage all women, whatever their age, skill level, or background, to enjoy being outside on snow.

Registration includes trail pass, small group lesson, Rossignol ski demos, and a small gift bag.

The Olympics at the Bierhall February 6 - 22, 2026


Join us on February 6 at 2pm for the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics! We will be installing a 14' x 8' screen at the Bierhall for the duration of the Winter Olympics so make your reservations in advance and catch your favorite winter sport up on the big screen through the closing ceremonies on February 22! von Trapp Olympic Party Saturday, February 7, 2026


Join the party to get into the Olympic spirit! A torchlight ski parade will start right at 5PM from the Outdoor Center. Participants must be on skis, have a headlamp, and have purchased a day pass or have a season pass. We will make our way to Picnic Knoll where a fire will be waiting and the (taped) Women's Olympic 10K will be projected onto a screen in the trees. 

Registration is not required and last-minute invites to your friends are welcome. However, we would love to have a rough estimate of how many people will be joining so please RSVP here if you plan to attend.

The Ski Vermont Specialty Food Day Tour visits 17 member ski areas with local food, beverage, and other Vermont-y vendors. Come enter this festive, low-key event; some may race, and others may tour. Just come out and ski at your own pace to the famous Trapp's Slayton Pasture Cabin and enjoy a hot chocolate or hot cider!

Course Description: Only one hill, a moderate 3 ½ K final climb to the cabin, but well worth the effort.

The Ski Moms and Skida Nordic Day Sunday, March 8, 2026


Join the Ski Moms and Skida for a celebration of women on snow & International Women’s Day!

Start the day with coffee and tea in a private room. Stash your gear and the group will do introductions. Then you will break into three groups. Beginners (with lessons and gear) or Intermediate & Experienced with a ski to the cabin. 

At the end of your ski you will meet back in the room for lunch and presentations and raffle.

Afternoon at your leisure–more skiing, try snowshoeing or call it a day

Schedule:

9:00-9:30am arrival and gear rental sorting (arrive at 9am if you need gear)

9:30 introductions

9:45 break into groups – some groups head to the cabin

10am lessons and ski starts

12:00 meet back in the room for lunch and presentations and raffle.

Afternoon at your leisure–more skiing, try snowshoeing or call it a day

Catamount Ultra Marathon Saturday, June 20, 2026


The Catamount Ultra Marathon starts and finishes at beautiful Trapp Family Lodge outside of Stowe VT. The 25k course is primarily wide, hard-packed dirt trail. To complete the 50k course, runners will complete the 25k loop, two times. There is an 9 hour racer cutoff for the 50k.

The Sound of Music In Concert returns, after a sold out run in 2024, to the von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort's concert meadow in partnership with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Theatre, Stowe Performing Arts and the Flynn Theatre.

Eastern Grind XC Mountain Bike Race Returning in 2026 - Dates TBD


The von Trapp trails will be the venue for the Eastern Grind XC MTB race in summer 2026 (date TBD). The team at Bicycle Express will be producing the race with options to do one or two loops of the ~10 mile course through our singletrack and doubletrack. We would love to see you out challenging yourself, whether your goal is to just complete the course or to be standing on the podium as a top finisher. Make a day of it and get the rest of your group on a tour or hike or ride and there's lots of options up here to celebrate post-race. Registration TBA.

Trapp Cabin Trail Races September 2026


The Trapp Cabin Trail Races are held annually at the to support Green Mountain Adaptive Sports. This perennial favorite is a great opportunity to try out trail running, to look for your personal best, or put the pedal down and go for the podium. There will be a 5K, 10K, and a Half-Marathon. Sign up to run with family and friends and create some long-lasting memories! This event is an important fundraiser for Green Mountain Adaptive Sports.

Tour the town during the Stowe Winter Carnival while watching Professional Ice Carvers create elegant and masterful ice carvings throughout the village on Demonstration Day and experience the Annual Ice Carving Competition Day.
