Many Happy Returns - All About Boomerangs Sunday, June 1, 2025

Join us on Sunday, June 1 at 4PM in the Yurt outside the Outdoor Center for a unique event, Many Happy Returns - All About Boomerangs. John Flynn from Pomfret, Vermont is a 4-time Boomerang Team World Champion and 13-time Event World Record Holder.

When we learned about John we thought (1) wow, this is cool and (2) wow, we might have the prettiest place in the world to throw boomerangs. Based on those two thoughts we knew we had to make an event happen for our guests and locals. John will be talking about his journey with boomerangs and his book, 50 Important Boomerangs: Pictures and Essays Celebrating the Modern Boomerang’s Evolution. We'll all get outside for some hands-on boomerang throwing, too.

When we hear the word “boomerang,” we form a picture in our mind of a widely spread V that when tossed will return to hand. The story behind the boomerang is a lot more complicated than its simple shape might imply. John has spent the better part of four decades participating in and tracking the history, evolution, and science behind the boomerang and documented his findings in this new book.

RSVP below for the event, as there is limited space in the Yurt. The event is free and boomerangs and John's book will be available for purchase.
